How people use their iPads

It seems iPad love-at-first-sight doesn’t fade. At least, that’s the finding of the latest Business Insider reader survey of iPad use.

Polling more than 2000 of its readers, the popular business website reports that three years after the iPad was launched, owners are spending more time with their tablets and consistently perform the same tasks on the device.

Business Insider has now run the iPad survey three times and crunched the numbers to discover, among other things:

  • iPad usage is increasing, with more respondents than ever before reporting that they use it for 2 to 5 hours a day.
  • The more people use the iPad, the more they like it, and the more they use it!
  • 46 per cent of respondents said it’s now their primary computer, versus 29.1 per cent in the first survey.
  • Web browsing is the most popular task performed on the iPad, followed by social networking and using apps.
  • Well over half of respondents have downloaded 20 apps or more and 67 per cent of iPad owners have paid for five or more apps.
  • iPad owners love their tablets and the vast majority (84.1 per cent) would not consider moving to a rival device.
